Taking a Walk

We went for a nice walk. 

Liv rode her bike, 

Mimi rode in the stroller, 

Bella on her leash.

 It worked, but it was a lot to keep track of. 

Pinata and Play Group for Liv's 4th

Olivia turned four!

 

Liv and Camila woke to the kitchen table decorated for Liv's Happy Birthday! 

and the girls each received a "dance ribbon"

We enjoyed Grandma Greta's coffee cake for breakfast. And had a Skype chat with Grammy.

Then! a fun bunch of friends came over to play!  We played out side for a while and did the treasure hunt (I can not believe that I forgot to take pictures. ugh.)

finally - it was pinata time! 

Liv received a "Leapster2"  and was lost to us for more than a little while. 

Later in the day she was exclaiming to me that she didn't know what to do! "My body is telling me, it wants to stop, but my head is telling me it wants to keep playing the game! I can't do both!I can't stop and keep playing. ..... I guess I'll keep playing." 

mom: "Well, how about you just tell your brain your going to stop for a just little bit - you can just pause it, and go get a drink of water - then ask your brain what it wants to do..."

it wasn't easy, but she did it. but she was explaining to me that her brain just kept thinking about the game. OH YIKES!!! We've got a possible addiction issue here!

Another First!

Liv learned to inflate a balloon last week while Grammy & Grampy were here!



These balloons have a straw, whe's still working on the rolled-edge ones. But she was pretty pleased with her new skills!

Sun Pinata for Liv

It seems that since Mimi's hotair balloon pinata was a success, it's time to make another one for Liv's birthday.

We're going to try a sun this time.

So far so good.

Play, Play, Play

Oh Boy, have we been playing with during our grandparents' visit! 

We showed them our new favorite climbing structure in town. Check this out!

This park has a merry-go-round, too. (Last summer they took out the see-saw) 

We took a trip over to Super Franks and had a terrific day!

And, of course, we played at the playground, here, at Diablo Grande.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

While Leslie Anne isn't here in California today, we are thinking of her as she and Grampy travel home. And before she left we had a little celebratory treat of ice cream cake.

She asked Livvy to help blow out the candles.

More Backyard Fun

We've had so many lovely days with the Grandparents, here! 

And lots of good fun playing outside.

Of course, plenty of riding bikes and digging in the their sandbox. 

Running, tumbling and wrestling in the lawn.

And a few happy picnics on our magic carpet. 

We even spent nearly all of Friday morning outside sprawled out on the magic carpet and various blankets, reading, playing, coloring; listening to the birds and basking in the sun and light breeze. It felt like a day at a resort!
