Exploring at the Beach

Last week we had a lovely day and spent a part of it playing in the sand ... Here are some pictures of Liv exploring the dunes.

And of course, they're a hit. :) i think it's great to watch her practice her "fine motor skills" and not have to worry about the flower petals, scraps of paper & god knows what else she's putting in her mouth! lol

we'll be sure to bring some on the plane, they seem to be a pretty good distraction.

Olivia is learning to "Chase Whitey" or "Spank Whitey" depending on how well you play.Quite the ham at the driving range. Pretty damn good at trying to mess up Dad's back swing.

Playing at the Beach, Yesterday

Yesterday in the late afternoon (before the much too early sunset), we went to the beach. The weather is getting cooler... but still ok for bare feet (especially with the promise of a warm bath after playing in the sand & chasing sea gulls).

The action, that you can't totally see in these still photos, is this happy flapping & bouncing move.
Very funny! Totally joyous.

Earlier in the day we made a trip to Ocean Beach in San Francisco - Whew! Was it windy! and much cooler. But a cool new place to explore.

Recent Hawaii Trip

Jeff's been working at the Honolulu Plant, we all missed being together, so Liv & I flew out for a visit. Here are some pictures from last week.

OMG! Here we go!

I thought I caught a glimpse of this yesterday afternoon & here she is this morning. Still a little uncoordinated, but scarily close. time to put those locks on the cabinets!

What is She Saying?

So obviously, she has something to say!

You may be aware that I've been using some sign language with Liv. The experts claim that babies may start signing back around 7 months old. So, I'm on the lookout!!! But I have to tell you I'm baffled, and its so funny to me to watch her in those last couple frames.

is she trying to communicate something in particular?

is she just noticing her new control & range of motion?

is she totally disgusted with me for not "getting it"?

At the Beach

So, last night, Liv and I went out to watch the sunset on the beach, and she put her feet in the sand for the first time (that she remembers). As we had already had a bath... I didn't let her get totally into it. but she sure had fun kicking it! ... But today... we walked home from the shop on the beach & I let her explore a little more. enjoy! (she seemed to!)

New Pictures

Hi, Everyone!



Liv is excited to be standing and more in control. She is able to push to sitting from her belly. She is on the verge of crawling and just yesterday was making her way around the living room.. going to hands and knees, lurching forward, diving to her belly, recovering... YIKES!!!

So it seems to me we're entering a more hazardous period.... she's pushing her limits and still has very limited sense of consequence... I'm sure she get her share of bumps & knocks, but I'll try to keep her from getting truly injured! :)
